Barcelona Ace Linked To Chelsea

If the reports coming from the Spanish daily ‘Sport‘ are to be believed, the Catalan forward Pedro might well be on his way to Stamford Bridge.

According to Sport, English Champions Chelsea are ready to pay the Spaniard’s €30million buyout clause once the new Barcelona president is elected.

Sport also reports that the 27-year old has said ‘yes’ to a move to the West London club after rejecting offers from Arsenal, Liverpool, and PSG and has made up his mind to leave Camp Nou.

The lack of playing time in the past two seasons is believed to be the driving force behind the move if it materializes. Moreover, the arrival of Arda Turan from Atletico de Madrid didn’t help matters for the forward who became increasingly concerned about his first team chances.

Sport further reports that Pedro “received a call from Jose Mourinho that made him rethink his future”. It is a well-known fact that the Blues’ boss is a keen admirer of the Spanish international. Also fellow Spaniard and former Barca team-mate Cesc Fabregas has been convincing the forward to join the Chelsea ranks.

The Spanish newspaper suggests that Barcelona “do not want to hurt a player who has given everything for the Blaugrana colors in the 7 seasons” he has played and thus the move looks favorable.

Chelsea have been very quite during this summer’s transfer window and have only managed to acquire the signatures of Colombian skipper Radamel Falcao and Brazilian prodigy Nathan. Signing of the stylish forward will surely change some of it.
