Dr Orji uzor Kalu pays a condolence visit to Tb joshua

Chairman and p u b l i s h e r of The Sun Newspapers, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu yesterday asked the General
Overseer of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet TB Joshua, to take the calamity that befell
his church with faith in God.
Kalu made the call yesterday during a condolence visit to the church and Prophet Joshua in Ikotun,
Lagos.
While paying condolences, the former Abia State governor challenged Joshua to take his strength from
the word of God in the Bible and face the situation with courage, knowing that calamity and bad
incidents are all part of life.
“You are a man of God that many run to in times of their distress, and God uses you to give them
strength, and now it has happened to you, the meaning is that you are also human and live in the world
full of troubles. I am not a preacher, but you are, and you know that even in the Bible which you and I
believe in, men of God like you, even great prophets, were not spared of calamities.
“A good and clear example is Job who all of us know about. I know in times like these, people would
say so many things about you, but I would encourage you to be strong and apply all the faith you have
lived with and preached to others, that actually liberated them from troubles to overcome.”
Kalu told the prophet that he is sure the heart of kindness, love and compassion with which he has
always handled other people’s problems would be enough reward from God he works for to make him
overcome.
He also urged Nigerians, especially those that have love and mercy for other human beings to pray for
Prophet Joshua, his church and that God should grant the people that lost their lives peaceful repose
and to their families the strength to bear the loss.
He told the prophet that though he had come to Lagos to pay condolence visit to the family of Pastor
Dimgba Igwe, the deceased Vice Chairman of The Sun Publishing who was killed by a hit-and-run
driver eight days ago, he felt it a duty to see the prophet and pass across a word of encouragement to
him.
“I know you; I know your love and compassion for human beings through your works, we all watch you
all over the world visiting human beings with kindness. About three years ago when disastrous
earthquake hit Haiti, you remained the first African to mobilize relief materials, experts and rescue
workers to Haiti to assist them. We know of many other works of charity you do, which is like the
mainstay of your ministry, and now, you face problems, God will never forsake you.”
The prophet who looked embattled, but still wearing his trademark smiles thanked Kalu and his
entourage for being so concerned and promised that the church and himself would do all possible to
handle the situation.
He praised the public rescue workers – the police, Lagos State chapter of the National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA), the Fire Service and other bodies including the State Security Service
(SSS) for the response and show of love and concern for him and the church immediately the incident
occurred.
He said he had got several calls from well-wishers from Nigeria and beyond and thanked the callers for
their concern.
He also noted that the church would do all possible within human ability to handle the situation and
overcome it. Prophet Joshua also assured that the incident would not shake his fate in God “because
He knows best, and can only explain why it happened or what caused it.”

It will be recalled that a building in the premisses of the scon colapsed on friday killing 3 and wounded scores of people.
